Delayed Cord Clamping

What is Delayed cord clamping?

It’s standard practice in hospitals and home births to first clamp the umbilical cord to stop blood flow, and then sever the baby from the placenta by cutting the cord. With Delayed cord clamping you delay cutting the cord for 30 seconds to up to as long as the mother wants.

The process of leaving the cord attached for more than 1hr is considered a Lotus Birth
